What is giving tuesday?
Giving Tuesday started in 2012 with the basic idea of creating a day for people to do good. Whether it be giving their time by volunteering for their community, or giving back by donating to worthy causes; the simple idea has rapidly spread across the globe over the past 7 years, and has brought hundreds of millions of people together. In this time, over 500 million dollars has been raised online in the United States alone. However, 2020 is unlike any year we have ever seen, as the COVID-19 virus continues to spread, and countries worldwide are on lockdown. Giving Tuesday is a day dedicated to generosity and helping your community. Whether you lend a helping hand to a neighbor in need, or donate a monetary amount to an organization in need, every act counts and everybody has something to give back.

OUR
MISSION

The mission of the Dr. Garabed A. Fattal Community Free Clinic is to provide preventive, primary, and acute health care (including prescription medications) to the uninsured adults of New York's Southern Tier.
Medical services and medications are delivered free of charge, by volunteer health care professionals and other community volunteers, in partnership with local participating health care institutions.
The Community Free Clinic serves as a multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary educational site for the training of medical students, nurse practitioner students, nursing students, other allied health professionals in medical technology, and graduate physicians in an Internal Medicine Residency Program.
COVID-19 and How You May be Able to Help
The Community Free clinic is a non-profit healthcare organization that receives its funding from charitable donations by institutions as well as everyday people who care about making a difference. Generally, the free clinic has been able to meet the demand of uninsured adults, however, due to COVID-19, we and many other non-profit healthcare organizations predict a massive surge in demand. Due to the outbreak of the deadly COVID-19 virus, unemployment continues to rise and may hit numbers that we have not seen in this country for a long time. This will lead to people losing their health insurance, and seeking free treatment, or information regarding if they qualify for, and how to go about obtaining new insurance.
